Alison Désir

Friday, June 19th at 12pm MT we have the pleasure to be taking to Alison Désir, mother, athlete, mental health coach, activist and author. Named by Women's Running as one of twenty women who are changing the sport of running and the world and by The Root 100 as one of the most influential African Americans, ages 25 to 45, Alison is the founder of Harlem Run, Run 4 All Women, and the Global Womxn Run Collective

Passionate about community, mental health and fitness, Alison's nickname, “powdered feet,” comes from the Haitian Kreyol saying, which describes a person so active that you never see them, just the footprints of where they’ve been in powder. Alison started running distance after a period of depression, and, over the past several years, has been able to Find Meaning on the Run.

This year, Alison kicked off the Meaning Thru Movement Tour, sponsored by HOKA ONE ONE. Originally slated as an 8-city, in-person event, the Meaning Thru Movement Tour is now a series of virtual events designed to bring the conversation about mental health and well being into the running and fitness space. Running May through September, MTM is FREE to all those that attend.

Each event will feature a dedicated discussion with a mental health expert on key themes, where participants will have the opportunity to ask questions directly during the live stream. The events will also feature dynamic movement, through a variety of fitness modalities, from yoga and HIIT to running, closing out each event with guided meditation and journaling.

Join us Friday, June 19th at 12pm MT @boldbrewteam.
